Excellent information, and I’m so glad I found this site through you at Plurk.com. The fact that it resembles granite and has similar properties, while remaining affordable, was a great find!

Do you know anything about granite radiating radon? My husband told me he heard this. Doesn’t sound very friendly to the cook!

@ Anita – Granite deep in the earth does contain radon. And I suppose there is a chance that a granite counter top could give off some radon. However, it’s really unlikely that a thin slab of granite would be an issue especially considering that the slab has been exposed to the atmosphere for quite a long period time by time it’s in your home. Certainly an issue worth discussing but my gut reaction is this shouldn’t be an issue.

I love enviroglas, both because it’s recycled materials (mostly glass, but also ceramics) and because for me it’s produced locally…also a key component of building green. We’re also using it in our new home for stair tread material….it should look great!
